How we chose
Four criteria, applied the same way to every site we compared.
We looked at large PC stores (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG), free browser portals (Poki, CrazyGames, Armor Games, Kongregate, Miniclip) and indie hubs (itch.io, Newgrounds). Each was marked from 1 to 10 on four criteria, and the overall score is the average.
Library
The size of the catalogue, the range of genres it covers and the pace of new additions.
Access
Free play, browser play, supported devices, and whether a client or account is required.
Fairness
Clear pricing, a findable refund policy, and no aggressive pay-to-win design.
Safety
Account security, parental controls, moderation and the absence of gambling features.
What we exclude
Anything where you stake money or crypto on an outcome: casinos, sportsbooks, sweepstakes and similar sites are left out entirely.
Our limits
Scores are editorial opinion, not lab measurements. Platforms change, so we review the pick every quarter.
